Grand Anse Beach |
The week before last while ploughing through our usual
activities, maintenance and general grind that takes 100 X longer afloat than
it does ashore we have had a fun and social week.
I had a fabulous day out at the spectacular Grand Anse beach
with Nina & Renate whose birthday it was.
Chatting, frolicking and playing ball in the sun until we were too
frazzled to do any more. It is really a stunning beach and a shame that as
cruisers we tend not to spend much time at some of these places.
We have had dinners out to celebrate Nina's birthday at the
Tiki Bar and a BBQ on a friends boat on a calm and balmy night. We caught up with
people we had not seen for a while whilst watching the Doc Adams Blues Band.
We have talked for a long time about getting a kayak to join
our upwardly mobile fleet. But they are not easy to come by down here at a
reasonable price. When we found out that another cruiser was selling one – we jumped
at the chance. We took a trip around to
St Georges to take a look. It was a
little bigger and a little pricier than we wanted. But we were taken and after a little
negotiating with the very nice couple, came home with a green kayak.
